A new place for fellow bibliophiles to discover, compare, debate, and learn about new and old books

Loss of Love
For the last year, I had fallen out of love with reading. I used to brag that I could read a 700 page book in a day, and during that year, I don't think I could have finished a kids chapter book. It took everything in me just to pick up a book, read a couple of paragraphs, and turn the page. My heart just wasn't in it anymore. English reading projects became a hassle, and I ended up spark noting before each quiz I took. My phone became my main source of entertainment. Whether it was Netflix, YouTube, Twitter or mindless apps, it consumed my life. I would still be brainwashed by social media if it wasn't for one of these apps: YouTube.
Rediscovering
YouTube is an amazing app, there is absolutely no denying that. You can learn so many new things from cooking to mechanics to sewing; the possibilities are endless. With that said, it is easy to go from those to a cat playing the piano. Just a regular day watching videos like those when I came across a video by Mackenzie Lane. It was New Years goals video, but for books. I clicked on it and fell in love. Before I found channels like these, I felt like there were no good books out. Turns out, I just wasn't looking in the right place. When I finished with the first video, I had a list of over 25 books that I wanted to read.
What this blog is about
Since rediscovering my love for books, I want everyone to either fall back in love with reading or find new books they've never heard of before. I will blog about reviews, anticipated books, open discussions, my favorites, and maybe even some makeup/clothing/politics/miscellaneous favorites.
